New Undergraduate Symposium!

April 3, 2019

The Standing Committee on Medieval Studies and the Committee on Degrees in History and Literature are pleased to announce a new undergraduate symposium on medieval and early modern studies, which will take place on Friday, 3 May 2019 in Emerson Hall. The organizeres invite contributions from Harvard College students of papers (fifteen to twenty minutes in length) in any discipline, dealing with any medieval or early modern topic. Particularly welcome are papers that push against traditional boundaries in medieval and early modern studies, exploring themes such as cultural exchange and empire, as well ones that address modern imaginings and appropriations of the deeper past. Proposal forms, along with a short abstract of 100-150 words, should be sent to memsymposium2019@gmail.com (subject line: paper proposal) by Friday, 12 April. A final list of participants, along with panel assignments, will be announced by Friday, 19 April. Proposal forms can be found at: https://medieval.fas.harvard.edu/undergraduate-symposium.
