Stephanie Leitzel entered the History PhD Program in 2015. Her scholarly interests revolved around the social and economic history of Medieval Europe, with a particular focus on Italy. She is currently in the Generals Exam phase of the PhD program in History, with fields in Medieval Europe, Early Modern Europe, the History of Capitalism, and Modern Italy. Stephanie graduated with Highest Distinction and Highest Honors from the University of Michigan in 2015, with a B.A in History, and minor in Medieval and Early Modern Studies. She is a Beinecke Scholar and has previously studied at the American Numismatic Society in New York and at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.
