Marie-Luise Theuerkauf

Marie-Luise Theuerkauf is a philologist and scholar of Celtic Studies specializing in medieval Ireland. Her research focuses on Irish topographical history (dindshenchas), medieval etymology and classical reception in Irish literature and culture. She has authored numerous articles on medieval Irish literature and a monograph on Ireland’s topo-mythographical corpus, Dindshenchas Érenn (Cork, 2023). Her current monograph project examines the interplay between topographical origin stories and concepts of Irish imperialism.
