Khushi studies women’s spaces of disobedience in the pre-modern Islamic world. She investigates notions of the “unseen” in a thirteenth-century Iberian manuscript on games, and seeks spaces where special rules obtained, where traces of disobedience remain. Beyond the medieval, she is interested in the medium of jewellery as women’s capital.
