Katharine Park

Katharine Park is an affiliate member of the Committee on Medieval Studies. Her research interests include the intellectual and cultural history of medieval and early modern medicine, the development of observational science, and the history of gender and sexuality in the Middle Ages. In addition to co-editing volume three of the Cambridge History of Science (2006) with Lorraine Daston, she is the author of Doctors and Medicine in Early Renaissance Florence (Princeton University Press, 1985), Wonders and the Order of Nature, 1150-1750 (Zone Books, 1998, with Lorraine Daston), and Secrets of Women: Gender, Generation, and the Origins of Human Dissection(Zone Books, 2006). She currently is collaborating with Ahmed Ragab on a history of medieval Latin and Arabic science.
