Harvard medievalist named President of Delphi Center

Panagiotis Roilos, George Seferis Professor of Modern Greek Studies and Comparative Literature as well as a member of the Standing Committee on Medieval Studies and the Steering Committee of Harvard's Special Graduate Program in Byzantine Studies, has been elected as the new president of the European Cultural Centre of Delphi. The Centre, with facilities in Delphi and Athens, was founded in 1977 to "serve international cultural interests" through the “publication of studies on European culture, the organisation of cultural meetings, and other artistic activities." Professor Roilos succeeds Byzantinist Helene Ahrweiler, Professor and Rector emerita of the University of Paris-Sorbonne.
