Calling all artists and graphic designers ...

The Committee on Medieval Studies is looking for a new--in fact, our first--official logo, and wants you to help! Anyone in the Harvard community--undergrads, grad students, faculty, and staff--are encouraged to submit a design for our Medieval Logo competition. Your logo must include the words “Harvard,” “Medieval,” and “Studies”; it may include the full name of the program (The Standing Committee on Medieval Studies"; and it should not use the Harvard "Veritas" shield (due to restrictions imposed by the University's trademark office). All entries should be submitted digitally as .jpg, .tif, or .pdf files (1200 x 1200 pixel resolution) to medieval@fas.harvard.edu with the subject line "Medieval logo entry". The deadline for submissions is 1 November 2024. Be sure to include your name and university affiliation with your submission. The winner, who will be announced at the Medieval Studies holiday party on 11 December, will receive a cash prize of $150, a framed print of their winning logo design, and the satisfaction of seeing their logo prominently displayed on Medieval Studies publicity and publications (including those for the 2025 Medieval Academy of America meeting). We look forward to seeing your ideas!
