Harvard Alum Publications Receive Medieval Academy Awards

Two of the Medieval Academy of America's most prestigious book prizes have been awarded this year to Harvard graduate alumni. Travis Zadeh, Ph.D. (2007) in Comparative Literature, Professor of Religious Studies at Yale University, and author of Wonders and Rarities: The Marvelous Book that Traveled the World and Mapped the Cosmos (Harvard UP, 2023), is the recipient of the MAA's Charles Homer Haskins Medal, given in honor of the legendary Harvard historian and medievalist to a book of exceptional distinction in the field of Medieval Studies.

Rowan Dorin, Ph.D. (2015) in History, Associate Professor of History at Stanford University, and author of No Return: Jews, Christian Usurers, and the Spread of Mass Expulsion in Medieval Europe (Princeton UP, 2023), has been recognized with the John Nicholas Brown Prize, given to a first monograph of outstanding quality in Medieval Studies. Professors Zadeh and Dorin will be honored at this year's annual meeting of the Medieval Academy, taking place at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Amherst College on 19-21 March.
