Python for Humanists
Date and Time
February 11, 2025
03:00PM - 04:00PM EST
Location
Robinson Hall 223
This is a biweekly reading group open to all, but aimed especially at graduate students in the humanities who are interested in learning to code or incorporating computational/quantitative methods in their work. No prior experience with Python, math, or computer science is presumed. This reading group is problem-focused: each session's "readings" will consist of an interactive Jupyter notebook with many examples and small problems, followed by a larger project that should be completable with a few hours of work using only the skills learned so far. Participants will also be encouraged to introduce specific problems they want to apply computational methods to or skills they would wish to learn.
