A demonstration by Pakistani musical sensation Ali Sethi '06, with Harvard Professor Ali Asani, of the lyrical world of the ghazal, which originated in Arabia in the seventh century CE and developed into a significant literary genre in Persian, Urdu, and other South Asian languages, poetically expressing loss and romantic love and often associated with traditions of spirituality (particulary Sufism) in South Asia.
