Coffee and tea will be served before the lecture.</p><p><!--break--><span style="font-size:12px;"><font face="Calibri,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif" color="black"><span>The early modern reception of the writings of Flavius Josephus (37-100 CE) opens up multiple perspectives on Christian-Jewish relations in the Spanish and Portuguese speaking worlds. Using Harvard's collection of Spanish translations of Josephus produced between 1492 and 1687, this lecture explores the ways in which books and readers defined and transgressed the boundaries between Jews and Christians in the early modern period.</span></font></span></p>
