Hedeman</a> (University of Kansas), <em>Making the Past Present: Illustrations in Early Modern France</em>. Participants will explore how illustrations interacted with their texts in manuscripts and early printed books in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. These new visual cycles reshape established Latin texts, French translations from Latin, and new French texts and create new horizons of expectations for their reception.
