Co-sponsored by the Committee on Medieval Studies, the Department of the History of Art and Architecture, and the Harvard Art Museums with the generous support of the M. Victor Leventritt Fund.</p><p>	<!--break-->Dr. Evelin Wetter is the curator of thirteenth- to sixteenth-century textiles at the <a data-url="https://abegg-stiftung.ch/en/" href="https://abegg-stiftung.ch/en/" title="">Abegg-Stiftung</a> in Riggisberg, Switzerland, and <em>Privatdozent</em> in the University of Leipzig's Institut für Künstgeschichte. In her lecture, Dr. Wetter will examine how garments received in rites de passage changed and shaped identity. Based on the discussion of a precious twelfth century nun’s crown as well as on textiles, pictorial, and archival sources from fourteenth century Prague, the lecture will focus on the role of liturgical clothing in ecclesiastical consecration rites.</p>
