A two-day symposium. Keynote address by David Abulafia (Cambridge University) on Thursday, 6:00 pm, Sackler Auditorium, with panels at Sackler Auditorium on Friday morning and afternoon. Followed by a handling session on medieval coins at the Harvard Art Museums, and a closing reception and concert at First Church Cambridge featuring Natasha Roule, the Hellenic College Byzantine Choir, and Sephardic music ensemble Voice of the TurtleCo-sponsored by the Mary Jaharis Center for Byzantine Art and Culture at Hellenic College Holy Cross, the Dumbarton Oaks Research Library and Collection, and the Department of the History of Art and Architecture, with additional support from the Harvard Provostial Fund for the Arts and Humanities.
