A two-day symposium. Keynote address by [David Abulafia](http://www.hist.cam.ac.uk/directory/dsa1000@cam.ac.uk) (Cambridge University) on Thursday, 6:00 pm, Sackler Auditorium, with panels at Sackler Auditorium on Friday morning and afternoon. Followed by a handling session on medieval coins at the Harvard Art Museums, and a closing reception and concert at First Church Cambridge featuring Natasha Roule, the Hellenic College Byzantine Choir, and Sephardic music ensemble [Voice of the Turtle](http://www.voiceoftheturtle.com/). Co-sponsored by the [Mary Jaharis Center for Byzantine Art and Culture at Hellenic College Holy Cross](http://maryjahariscenter.org/), the [Dumbarton Oaks Research Library and Collection](http://www.doaks.org/), and the [Department of the History of Art and Architecture](http://haa.fas.harvard.edu/), with additional support from the Harvard Provostial Fund for the Arts and Humanities.
