Roger Wieck, *Medieval Bestseller: The Book of Hours.*

The book of hours, an illustrated prayer book, was popular with lay men and women of the late medieval/early Renaissance period for over 300 years. Why? Wieck’s lecture, illustrated with slides, will answer this question by exploring the texts and images to be found within their pages. The discussion will also explore this era’s veneration of the Virgin Mary and obsession with death.

For those who cannot make it to Roger Wieck’s lecture in person, the McMullen Museum invites you to view this event live online at 2:00 p.m. at [http://bit.ly/2azs5rg](http://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http://bit.ly/2azs5rg&h=UAQFdgcC_&enc=AZNbeqt3Ie2ctbt7LQf3fVpL4e3NBfN3Z5QFtsd4g9nvuyGTEgpcBRqzy_GpxzaRU2U&s=1).
